Kiir rains decrees removing, replacing officials in three states

Several government officials from Juba and across three states have lost their jobs on Thursday evening as President Salva Kiir announced swathes of decrees that also appointed their replacements.

President Kiir has relieved the Undersecretary in the national Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs Dr. Kot Bol Nyuor and appointed William Chan Achuil in his place.

In a Presidential Decree read on state-owned television SSBC, Kiir also fired officials in Western Bahr el Ghazal, Northern Bahr el Ghazal and Western Equatoria states.

In Western Bahr el Ghazal, the president sacked Andel Wadetala Nasir, the state advisor on Economic Affairs, Julius Bethansio Julu, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Elia Camilo Demo, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Hassan Ngor Aguer, the Minister of Roads and Bridges.

All the relieved officials are from the SPLM party.

In their place, Kiir appointed Khamis Dayia Omer as the state Advisor on Economic Affairs, Arkangelo Anyar Anyang as the new Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Rudolfo Andrea Ojieka as the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs.

Meanwhile, Honorable Julius Bethanio Julu, the former Minister of Cabinet Affairs has been appointed as the new minister of Roads and Bridges.

The president also revoked the appointment of Honorable Mohamedeen Abukaker Mohamedeen, the speaker of Western Bahr el Ghazal state parliament.

Mohamedeen has been at the center of conflict triggered by the naming of a new bridge in Jur River.

Kiir has appointed Andel Wadetala Nasir, whom he has relieved as the state advisor on economy, as the new parliament speaker.

Several officials from Western Equatoria State were also relieved.

These were Simon Peter Sarawasi, the state Minister of Housing, Land and Public Utilities, Ann Felix Adhiambo, the Minister of Animal Resources and Fisheries.

The president further appointed Eng. James Renzie Babe, Minister of Housing, Land and Public Utilities, Naumba Mariam Obardu, Minister of Animal Resources and Fisheries.

Some WES Independent Commissions officials were also fired and replaced.

Honorable Joseph Dhaku, the Chairperson of Relief and Rehabilitation Commission, Eliakima Ezekiel Noti, the Chairperson of Human Rights Commission and Joseph Sebit, member of the state Human Rights Commission.

In their place, the president appointed Veronia Ani Michael, Chairperson Relief and Rehabilitation Commission, John Obote Madale, Chairperson of Human Rights Commission, Juma Wilson, member of Human Rights Commission.

Finally, President Kiir reshuffled officials from Northern Bahr el Ghazal State.

The president removed Deng Amol Anei, State Advisor on Legal Affairs, Bona Majok Anyany, Member of Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation Commission, Anguei Akot Akot, Member of Anti-Corruption Commission.

They were replaced by Anguei Akot Akot, Advisor on Legal Affairs, Mayar Awer Yel, Member of Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation Commission, and Bona Majok Anyany, member of Anti-Corruption Commission.
