President Salva Kiir on Sunday traveled to the Egyptian capital Cairo in a working visit that will see him hold talks with counterpart, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.

According to the Office of the President, the two leaders will meet on bilateral issues that are of interest to both countries.

President Kiir’s spokesperson, Lily Adhieu Martin Manyiel said the two leaders would discuss a range of bilateral issues, including exchanging views on collective regional matters.

The president was seen off at Juba International Airport by the First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar Teny and other senior government officials.

It is Kiir’s second trip to Cairo in four months since his July 2023 trip to attend the Summit of Sudan’s neighbors to deliberate on ways to resolve the ongoing conflict.
