Kiir fires Mayiik, appoints Deng Dau acting Foreign Affairs Minister

President Salva Kiir on Wednesday relieved Mayiik Ayii Deng and appointed his deputy, Deng Dau, the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

The ex-minister was fired in a presidential decree read on the state-own TV, SSBC on Wednesday, March 8, 2023.

Kiir then appointed Mayiik’s deputy Deng Dau as the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

In a separate decree, the head of state reshuffled two Warrap state ministers and an advisor.

Kiir relieved Karbino Akech as the state Minister of Agriculture and Environment and appointed him as the state advisor on Human Rights in the state.

While rights advisor Biar Deng Biar has become the Minister of Cooperative and Rural Development which was previously held by John Deng Madut who is now the state Minister of Agriculture and Environment.
