The Governance Cluster has referred to the Council of Ministers a proposal seeking the allocation of lands for the unified forces in the ten states and three administrative areas.

The Wednesday proposal was presented to the cluster by the Ministry of Defense and Veterans Affairs General Chol Thon Balok.

It seeks the council’s decision to direct the state governors and Chiefs of the Administrative Areas to allot land for the army.

Thon Balok, the Deputy Minister of Cabinet Affairs says, the lands are intended for military activities.

“We have directed recommend to the Council of Ministries so that all ten state governors and three administrative areas locate land for the army, so they can carry out their activities and use it for military needs,” the State’s own TV, SSBC citing him as saying, last evening.

According to the Defense Minister, the cluster also listened to a memo on protecting the Country’s sovereignty including the Nile River and air navigation by the army.
