The Council of Ministers has approved a sum of 5 million Pounds to the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry to supply farmers with seeds.

The funds are aimed at improving agricultural production this season.

The Minister of Agriculture, Beda Machar said yesterday that the money will also enhance mechanize farming in the country:

“If you have seeds then you will be able to cultivate a large portion of land, so you need to plant improved seeds,” said Mr Machar. “These improved seeds can give you high yield in your farm.”

Mr. Beda urges people to embrace farming so that famine doesn’t hit the country in the coming months.
