The Community Empowerment for Progress Organization is urging the warring parties to implement just signed agreement.

The government and the SPLM in Opposition inked the Security Matrix for the implementation of the Cessation of Hostilities Agreement they signed yesterday.

The Executive Director of CEPO, Edmond Yakani, told Eye Radio that the government and the SPLM-SPLA in Opposition should prove to the people of South Sudan that they are serious this time.

He says the parties to the conflict must implement the agreement without delay.

“They should prove to us this time that they are really willing to bring peace and stability by implementing this agreement, article by article, to implement it 100% without any delay or create any weakness in the implementation of the article that they have signed in the matrix,” said Mr Yakani.

He added that violation of the agreement by any party to the conflict this time will negatively affect the chance of achieving lasting peace in South Sudan.
