The US government has donated humanitarian aid to people affected by the conflict in Upper Nile state.

The N-G-O World Vision received 1,000 plastic sheets for shelter and 4,500 hygiene kits for the IDPs.

World Vision’s communication officer Michael Arunga told Eye Radio that they received the humanitarian aid from Nairobi.

“All these items will go to Upper Nile, particularly to people within the UNMISS compound in Malakal,” he said.

Mr Arunga said the US government is using World Vision as an agent on the ground to reach beneficiaries.

World Vision, which is working with other aid agencies, has trained nearly 3,000 displaced people in Malakal town on ways to improve sanitation and hygiene to avoid diseases.
