Two women were among five killed in an attack on a village in Bor County in Jonglei State on Monday, a Member of Parliament has said.

Kuol Deng, who represents Bor County in the national assembly, says gunmen attacked Jalle Payam in the evening.

They drove off more than 800 cattle and burnt huts.

“About seven people were reported wounded and some of this people have been referred to Bor referral hospital,” Hon Deng told Eye Radio in Bor.

Mr Deng said about five thousand people have fled Jalle Payam to seek safety in the neighboring Twic East County.
