Yei: Insecurity affects dispersion of medical supplies

Author : | Published: Tuesday, November 22, 2016

It is difficult to supply drugs to the health facilities out of Yei town due to insecurity, Yei River State Minister of Health has said.

Kogo Manasseh says health partners recently supplied a consignment of emergency drugs to help the people, but some areas in which needy people are cannot be accessed.

He told Eye Radio that some facilities have also been destroyed by armed men.

“The parties that are involved in the conflict should come to amicable solution and open for us corridors where we can get access to the people,” Mr Manasseh said.

The medicines were supplied by the World Health Organization, Medicines’ Sans Frontiers, and the International Committee of the Red Cross in September.

He said the consignment was expected to be enough for two months.
