In Western Bahr al-Ghazal, authorities have named Karlo Dikilogo as the paramount chief of Wau County.

He is replacing Angelo Bagari, who was shot dead along with his wife last month.

Mr Karlo was appointed through an order from the commissioner, Elia Kamilo Dimo.

Mr Kamilo has directed the county officials to recognize Mr Karlo and asked the security forces to provide him protection in his new capacity.

The late Angelo Bagari and his wife were killed in their house less than a week after taking oath of office for a new term.
