26 people are feared dead after a group of armed men attacked Upper Nile’s Ulang County on Friday.

A dozen others were wounded in the 1 O’clock attack.

An Eyewitness who spoke to Eye Radio on condition of anonymity said the attackers who are believed to have come from Pibor County shot at civilians discriminately.

As a result, women and children are among the casualties.

The county commissioner of the neighboring Nassir County, Dak Tap, who rushed to the scene this morning, said several heads of cattle have been looted:

Commissioner Dak Tap added that the situation is now calm in the area.

This is the second cattle raiding attack on Ulang County this year.

In February, thousands of civilians fled the area following series of attacks on cattle camps.
