The Ministry of Information and Communication in Unity State has appointed county communication directors for Rubkona, Koch, Mayendit, Leer, and Payinjiar counties to improve information management and communication services.

The appointments fill positions that had remained vacant in the five counties.

Speaking to Eye Radio, State Minister of Information and Communication Nyakenya Yohanis said the newly appointed directors are expected to start work after receiving their appointment letters.

“The five counties did not have information directors. So their work is more of collecting reliable information from each and every county with immediate effect. Once they confirm by Monday, they will take their appointment documents to the office, then they start work,” she said.

The ministry said the appointments will strengthen its presence at the county level, improve coordination with local authorities, and support the delivery of information and communication services across Unity State.

The appointed county directors are Galam Nyieth Thiyang for Rubkona, Peter Guong Gatluak for Koch, Gatmai Pel Riak Jut for Mayendit, Ruon Dak Mazier for Leer, and Kach Phar Dor for Payinjiar.

According to the ministry, the appointments are part of efforts to improve access to reliable information and support digital transformation across Unity State.
