Burglars broke into the offices of the World Food Program in Bor on Friday, according to Jonglei authorities.

The state Minister of Law Enforcement, Peter Wal, says they made away with money and computers.

According to the footprints, Mr Wal says, the criminals vanished into a nearby forest.

The minister told Eye Radio that no suspect has been arrested so far, but investigations are underway.

“A group of thieves climbed into the wall of World Food Program in Bor, in Pakuau and managed to break into the offices of the World Food Program, and stole some computers and money,” he said.

The amount lost to the robbers is unclear. There have been increasing cases of robbery in Bor Town in the last two months.

Last Sunday, a motorist was killed by unidentified gunmen. A woman was also murdered in her sleep on Tuesday night. Both incidents were related to robbery.

This week, the Mayor of the Jonglei state capital, Nhial Majak Nhial, also confirmed arrest of several police officers among 17 suspects of night robberies
