Painting for peace in Juba

Author : | Published: Wednesday, June 17, 2015

The activist group, Hope Society, is organizing a painting festival as part of campaigns for peace.

The three-day campaign starting today, aims at providing a platform for artists to showcase their handwork at Nyakuron Cultural Center in Juba.

The exhibition is under the theme: “Let’s Paint for Peace.”

“Some artists are really gifted and they could even go international. That is why at this specific period of time we need to have these things to be given importance. Other people also have some different hobbies. So we need to give them space also to express their thought and feelings,” said David John Kuic, the director of the Hope Society.

“In the near future we are planning to move these exhibitions to schools. Some children have talent and need us to promote them.”

Mr David has invited all artists to attend the festival and exhibit their works.
