The speaker of the national Parliament has called for an end to communal hostilities, ahead of Independence Day celebrations, this week.

Manasse Magok Rundial, said all the communities, contributed to the independence of South Sudan, and should allow each other to mark the day peacefully.

“We are all seeing ourselves in the mirror of the Republic South Sudan. South Sudanese people should maintain cohesiveness of themselves as people who have labored together to free themselves. They are one people. They should not hate themselves. They should love themselves; one nation, one country. They should not be hostile to each other. We hope this message will be taken and adhered to by my people, the people of South Sudan”, he said.

Mr Magok said South Sudanese should embrace peace in order to develop, adding that the six-month conflictm that started last year, should end with the celebration of this anniversary.

He said that Independence Day is a reflection of the sacrifices made during the struggle.
