The Western Bahr El Ghazal Minister of Finance says the State governor has rejected the decision taken by the state Legislative Assembly to vote her out, for what they describe as ‘failure to implement the 2013-2014 budgets.

Members of the State assembly voted out the State Finance Minister after she refused to approve some money as their salary increment.

Minister Lillian Valentino Rizik confirmed that the assembly had written her a letter demanding the sum 220,000 South Sudanese pounds to be transferred to their account.

She said they gave her eight hours to take action, and the next day they wrote her another letter condemning her failure to submit the money and then they decided to oust her.

Madam Valentino was speaking to Eye Radio’s Sundown show.

“So what happened is that they used to have extra money after they get their salaries and allowances and what they do with the remaining of the money is that they distribute among themselves. So now at this time it’s not happening because if they don’t have their own block transfer so we were able to pay everybody their salary 100% including the assembly and their allowances. So now they are demanding for extra money which I think it was necessarily belonging to them.”

Madam Valentino said the state Legislative Assembly expected her to cut the money from other employees’ salaries, which would have been a form of corruption.

She added that she would not agree to their demand.
