The Embassy of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia in Juba pays tribute to the Ethiopian peacekeepers killed during a United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) patrol in Jonglei State.
In a statement released regarding the incident, the Embassy condemned the attack on Ethiopian blue helmets serving in South Sudan.
“We extend our condolences to the families and colleagues of the peacekeepers,” the Embassy stated. “We wish a recovery to the peacekeepers, police personnel, and civilians injured during the attack.”
Ethiopia maintains concern regarding the conflict in South Sudan.
The Embassy calls upon national and state authorities to conduct an investigation into the incident and ensure those responsible are held accountable.
