Aweil returnees’ immigration documents delayed in Juba

Author : | Published: Saturday, March 1, 2014

The Director of Passport, Nationality and Immigration Joseph Manot Mareng says more than 40 people have not got their documents due to a technical problem with the production machine in Juba.
National ID cards which are funded by UNHCR were distributed to returnees in Aweil East and West counties this year.
Some people from Aweil East say they completed the application process but still have not received their cards.
Manot says those people will have to return to the office to have their photos taken again. They do not have to fill out the forms.
He says the team that is distributing the cards is still gathering information about damaged documents from Aweil West.
They start work in Marial Baai in Aweil West County starting tomorrow.
Manot added that UNHCR has so far funded over 2,000 returnees across NBG for National ID Cards.
Returnee chief Micheal Diing Diing says they are grateful for the assistance in getting the cards.
