Lobong to assess security issue in Nimule

Eastern Equatoria State governor will lead a team to assess the clashes that occurred in Nimule Town on over the weekend, an official has said.

On Saturday night, unknown gunmen had attacked a team of security personnel patrolling the area and burnt three vehicles.

One person was wounded in the incident.

“There is a team coming from Torit to come and see what is has happened,” Nimule Town Clerk David Eriga confirmed to Eye Radio.

Mr Eriga said additional forces have also been deployed in the area.

“The patrol is a normal patrol in the town. Those forces that came are to replace the ones that have been there.”

Mr. Eriga says investigations on the attack are still going on.
