Three Syrian nationals and a South Sudanese were shot dead on Saturday by a gunman in Warrap State, government official confirms.

Minister William Wol Mayom said the incident happened in Akon village of Gogrial West on January 7.

“We had this incident in the state and there is an urgent committee dispatched for investigation, the police commissioner has been directed to urgently carry out investigations,” Wol told Eye Radio on Sunday.

A source who prefers to have his identity concealed said the Syrian nationals were building the house of a senior government official in Akon town.

The South Sudanese victim is said to be a security guard at the construction site.

Minister Mayom confirms that the culprit has been apprehended and the investigation committee has been dispatched to figure out the intention from the murderer.

“The good news is that, the culprit has been apprehended and investigation would start from him. Why and how? But the incident is true, three Syrians and one South Sudanese.”

The motive of the triple murder is unclear.
