The head of South Sudan Prison Service and the commissioner of Fire Brigade from office.

Director General Abel Makoi and General Arou Maan Chot were relieved in two separate decrees yesterday.

The officials had remained in their offices for too long, said Ateny Wek Ateny, Presidential press secretary.

“[Those] were routine decrees that aimed at curbing the service of those who have actually stayed in the work for very long time; so, it was a right decision.”

The President has not named any replacements to the positions.
