The National Examinations Council says it has cancelled the results of 87 students from Nimule Model Secondary School in Eastern Equatoria State over what it described as serious examination malpractice.

The announcement came after the Ministry of General Education and Instruction released the 2025 Certificate of Secondary Education Examination results in Juba this afternoon.

According to the Council, the results were nullified following investigations that found a serious breach of examination rules and regulations.

The Council also awarded zero scores to 23 candidates from other schools who were implicated in the same cheating case.

Officials said the action was taken to protect the integrity and credibility of the national examinations system and to ensure fairness among candidates who complied with examination regulations.

The affected candidates were among more than 45,000 students, including 26,500 males and 19,200 females, who sat for the end-of-secondary education examinations across the country between December 1 and 9 last year.

The Ministry of General Education and Instruction says 80.7 percent of candidates passed the 2025 Certificate of Secondary Education Examinations. Male candidates performed slightly better, with an 81 percent pass rate, compared to 79.2 percent among female candidates.
