Senior Presidential Envoy for Special Programs Adut Salva Kiir has donated 10 vehicles to strengthen national Ebola preparedness and response efforts.
The donation was announced during her visit to the National Public Health Institute alongside Health Minister Luke Thompson to assess the country’s readiness against the threat of Ebola.
According to a statement from her office, the 10 Land Cruiser vehicles will strengthen logistics and facilitate the transportation of medical supplies across the country.
Health officials and partners welcomed the support, citing logistical challenges and the need for stronger preparedness measures, particularly at border entry points.
During the visit, Minister Thompson said the government is committed to supporting efforts to prevent the disease from entering the country.
Adut Kiir emphasized the importance of public awareness, civic education, and strong health institutions in responding to disease outbreaks.
She later visited the Infectious Diseases Unit in Jebel and commended health workers for their continued dedication and preparedness.
