Egypt to train 40 South Sudan officials on diplomacy

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation on Friday sent 40 diplomats to the Egyptian capital Cairo for a special training course.

The team includes 30 diplomatic officials and 10 protocol officers who shall go under training in Etiquette and Protocol.

The 10-day training will be conducted by the Egyptian Institute of Diplomatic Studies in cooperation with the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development”.

Ambassador Sitona Abdallah, the Director-General of International Cooperation in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, thanked Egypt for the training offer.

“This special course has been designed only for diplomats from South Sudan, this is the first time to send this big number for training in any country,” Ambassador Abdallah said on the national television SSBC.

In his part the. Egyptian Ambassador in Juba Mohamed Elmoatez Mostafa Abdelkader said the training will strengthen engagements in the areas of capacity building.

“As I mentioned we are preparing and finalizing a Memorandum of Understanding between the two-diplomat institute in Juba and Cairo.”
