Chinese AMB acknowledges Eye Radio’s informative role in remote areas

The Chinese Ambassador to South Sudan said he acknowledges the role of South Sudan media in disseminating information to the public and commended Eye Radio for keeping communities in far-flung areas informed.

Speaking at the handover ceremony of a generator to Eye Radio on June 16, Ambassador MA Qiang said his country’s diplomatic embassy in Juba is a devoted Eye Radio news reader.

“Eye Radio is one of the most prominent media houses in South Sudan. Millions of South Sudanese especially those in remote rural areas get information from you to know and understand what takes place every day in South Sudan and in the world,” Amb. Qiang said.

“The Chinese Embassy is among numerous loyal readers who have been attracted by your high-quality reports.”

On his part, CNPC representative Ren Yongsheng they have offered to assist Eye Radio with a generator since it plays an important role in keeping South Sudanese informed.

“We all know that Eye Radio is a household brand and plays an important role in disseminating news and information and enriching people’s daily life in South Sudan,” said Yongsheng.

“It is the pleasure of CNPC to establish a connection with Eye Radio by providing assistance within our reach,” he said. “Based on this, we would like to further develop the connection with eye radio in the cause of news dissemination in South Sudan in future.”

“Since South Sudan gained its independence in 2011, CNPC began to cooperate with the Ministry of Petroleum in the petroleum and oil industry which generates great benefits for both countries and people.”

Mr Yongsheng pointed out that the CNPC attaches great importance to fulfilling its corporate social responsibility in humanitarian assistance, education, natural disaster mitigation and relief.

He also said the CNPC invests vast amounts of funds to foster and promote the development of local communities around the oil field through the share in DPOC and GPOC.

The official said all CNPC activities symbolized the company’s cooperative concept of “Harmonious Development and Mutual Benefit”.

Yongsheng said in the future, the firm will strengthen cooperation with MoU and pledge to make more contributions to the economic and trade development of South Sudan.
