UN Chief expected to visit South Sudan

UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon is expected to meet President Salva Kiir in Juba later this week.

The agenda of their meeting has not been disclosed.

The Spokesperson for the Secretary-General, Stephen Dujarric, says Mr Ban will also visit the UNMISS protection of Civilians site while in the country.

Mr Dujarric says Ban Ki Moon will this weekend visit people impacted by insecurity and humanitarian crisis in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

He will be in Kinshasa for the opening session of the Great Lakes Private Sector Investment Conference.

He is also expected to meet with President Joseph Kabila and several DRC government officials as well as political and civil society representatives.
