No interim gov’t without SPLM-IO

Author : | Published: Sunday, February 21, 2016

The Minister of Information, Michael Makuei Lueth, says President Salva Kiir will not form a new government without the participation of the SPLM in Opposition.

This is a new position after presidential press secretary Ateny Wek Ateny said positions of the SPLM-in Opposition may be left vacant.

The JMEC and Partners group had earlier advised against a unilateral move to form a transitional government, saying this would be against the letter and spirit of the peace agreement.
