Man arrested for killing blood brother in Aweil South
Police in Northern Bahar el Gazal State are investigating a 53-year-old man for allegedly killing his blood brother in Panthou on Tuesday night.
The state police spokesperson says Makuach Athoi Yuot had picked up a quarrel with his brother Deng Athoi Yuot when he allegedly killed him.
Captain Gout Guot Akol says the suspect killed his younger sibling using a spear, an act seen by the neighbors.
“After our police authorities received a phone call from Aweil South they rushed to the scene in a village called Malith Buol in Panthou Payam,” he said.
Suspect Athoi is being held in police custody.
The motive behind taking the life of his brother is unclear but Captain Akol says the police are investigating the matter.
“The suspect is now being investigated by the police” adding that “police forces have been deployed to provide security in the area. “
