More than 900 children have been rescued by a humanitarian agency in Upper Nile State since the violence broke out in December last year.

The SOS Children Village – South Sudan announced that the children were rescued in Paloch and Malakal.

It says that it is taking care of 90 vulnerable children in Juba while the rest are at their centers in Upper Nile State.

However, Charles Banja Napoleon, Director says that two of the children they rescued are missing.

He says that it is not clear if these children are still alive or have been killed in the fighting.

“We don’t know exactly whether they have been killed or taken by some good people,” said Mr Banja.

He said two of the women who were taking care of the children fled the Malakal center due to fear.

“They actually took off because the situation was very bad, and so they left.”

The women were initially feared dead. But SOS says they could be in Malakal or Jonglei.

Mr. Banja added that photos of the two missing children were given to UN and humanitarian agencies to return to the SOS center if they are found.
