The SPLA has urged the residents of Juba to report the soldiers who participated in shooting during the celebrations on New Year’s Eve.
Speaking to S-S-T-V, the Commander of the Presidential Guards, Major-General, Marial Chenoung, said there was sporadic shooting for several hours on the night of 31st and early morning of 1st January.
He said more than 30 soldiers who defied the orders have been arrested.
“…we are appealing to them that if your neighbor participated in doing that, we are ready to receive information from the public so that we can also arrest those who participated in the shooting and account them for what they have done.” He said.
Major-General Chenoung said those who shot bullets and caused panic will be held accountable.
