A group of South Sudanese women say they are withdrawing from having sex or withdrawing from making love in a bid to pressure men to end the conflict.

Women peace activists say men whom they call warmongers are the ones who encourage war.

A woman activist, Zahara Saeed Ali, says they will have what would be “on strike from sex from their husbands”

She told Eye Radio that they especially want to make sure the men who wage war will be the men to miss out from sex.

“The Women are planning to stop conjugal rights to their husbands, unless they achieve peace,” Ms Zahara said.

“We’re going to include all the women from the ten states and we are planning to have it done.”

The move by the women is seen as a pressure on the warring parties to end the ten-month conflict in South Sudan.

The sevenths round of peace talks is expected to resume next week in Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa.
