The Western Bahr el Ghazal State Government has reopened Agok Police Station after it remained closed for 14 years, in a move aimed at strengthening security and the rule of law in the area.

According to Western Bahr el Ghazal Home news, Governor Sharif Daniel Sharif officially inaugurated the rehabilitated police station, saying its reopening will improve security and enhance the delivery of public services to residents of Agok.

He said the rehabilitation was undertaken to reinforce the rule of law and commended the Wau Municipal Administration for supporting development projects across the state.

The State Minister of Local Government and Law Enforcement, Akol Majok Rok, urged residents to preserve peace and promote peaceful coexistence, saying unity and cooperation are essential for lasting stability.

State Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Edward Dimitri Lukak called on the public to work closely with the police in maintaining law and order, stressing that community cooperation is key to ensuring security across the state.

Speaking on behalf of the local community, Agok Sheikh Peter Monj Lait welcomed the reopening of the police station and thanked the state government for rehabilitating the facility after more than a decade of closure.

The rehabilitation of Agok Police Station was fully funded by the Western Bahr el Ghazal State Government as part of its efforts to improve public infrastructure and strengthen security institutions across the state.
