There is an increased cases of Urinary Tract Infection in the country, a medical specialist has said.

He told Eye Radio’s Dawn Program that the disease is common among the elderly persons.

“We are receiving so many patients from states even in Juba and these patients are elderly patients who are above 60 years old,” said Dr Deng.

Dr. Deng said people with discomfort while urinating should immediately seek medical attention at the hospital.

A urinary tract infection, or UTI, is an infection that can happen anywhere along the urinary tract.

Urinary tract infections have different names, depending on what part of the urinary tract is infected, including bladder, kidneys, ureters and urethra.

According medical experts, most urinary tract infections are caused by bacteria that enter the urethra and then the bladder.

The infection most commonly develops in the bladder, but can spread to the kidneys. Most of the time, your body can get rid of these bacteria. However, certain conditions increase the risk of having UTIs.
