At least 16 people have been killed in Twic County of Warrap state by armed men suspected to be from Unity State.
Authorities said 14 of those killed were women.
Twic County Commissioner, Biar Biar Ring said the incident happened on Monday afternoon.
“The deceased were 13 women, a girl and two soldiers,” he told Eye Radio
Commissioner Biar said the women and two soldiers were killed in the bush while fetching grass for construction.
They [attackers] clashed with young men known as ‘Tiit Weng’ and some trained men.
He added that the armed men raided about 130 cattle.
Last month, 9 people were also killed in Twic County by armed raiders.
