The Ministry of Transport says it will recruit more than 230 people to work in the Railways and River Transport Departments within the next two weeks.
The announcement followed a meeting of a joint technical committee between the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Public Service to review the technical requirements for upcoming job advertisements.
According to the Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Transport, César Oliha, the committee is currently identifying the required positions, qualifications, and other technical details necessary for the recruitment process.
Meanwhile, the Director General of Recruitment and Selection in the Ministry of Public Service and Human Resource Development, Daniel Atem, said the committee will submit its final plan to the Minister within the next two weeks for public announcement.
Atem stated that the ministry is currently working out the job descriptions and terms of reference for the 231 positions that need to be filled.
“We are now on job descriptions and terms of reference of each position. We have 231 positions need to be filled. I’m just calling upon the citizens to be ready,” he said.
The Ministry of Transport first announced plans to recruit 400 new employees in a nationwide hiring drive aimed at addressing staffing shortages across its departments in November.
