The Minister of Mining has launched an online portal for the application of mining licenses, aimed at easing the permit process and reducing delays.
Speaking on SSBC on Saturday (Dec.6), Minister of Mining Martin Gama Abucha said the platform will allow applicants anywhere in the world to complete the entire license application process remotely.
Abucha added that the new platform also comes with advanced technical features, particularly beneficial for back-end users.
“The new platform is actually much better than the older platform. You’ll do everything online. You don’t need to submit any paperwork physically to the Ministry. You can do everything from where you are, whether you’re in Europe or you are in South Africa. Or here in one of your villages, you still can be able to do that,” he said.
He explained that these improvements allow users to log in from their mobile phones or laptops and quickly upload all required documents.
He also said the integration of a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system will enable Ministry reviewers to efficiently check and process all submitted documents.
