In Tonj South, bad roads are hindering the delivery of locally produced goods to the market, according to Warrap state officials.

The County Commissioner, William Wol, says producers have no access to the market.

“The issue of transport currently is really affecting our business especially the fishermen,” Mr Wol told Eye Radio.

“We have lack of accessibility in terms of roads and this is also in general problem in other service delivery and security.”

Mr. Wol says feeder roads linking the production areas to the markets are a responsibility of the state government.

“The government is trying its best to make sure that roads are opened up for other business. But since you know that there are economic crises, we are unable now to open up the roads for the business there.”

He says the county authorities will coordinate with the business community to improve the roads.
