Former Minister of Information and Communication for Central Equatoria State, Francis Barson Yuasa, has died, according to the office of the state governor.

A condolence message issued by Governor Emmanuel Adil’s office did not disclose when or where Yuasa died.

Governor Adil described Yuasa as a distinguished public servant who dedicated many years to public service and contributed to the administration and development of Central Equatoria State and South Sudan.

He expressed condolences to Yuasa’s family, relatives, friends and former colleagues.

Yuasa also served as Director of Census during the implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement, CPA.

He later served as Commissioner-General of the Economic Zone during the former Jubek State.
