The Ministry of Health in Yei River State has set up an emergency team of doctors, nurses and lab technicians to respond to suspected cases of cholera that may be reported.

The director general in the ministry, Dr James Wani, says the team is on standby to respond to signs of cholera, such as diarrhea.
Dr Wani told Eye Radio that the 13 members will cover all the four counties in the state.
He called for good hygiene practices to avoid the spread of the suspected cholera.
“If any person has the signs should report to the nearby health facility and make sure that your environment is very clean, drink clean water and eat warm food and wash your hands with soap to prevent the outbreak of cholera,” said Dr. Wani.
Cholera is a disease spread through eating or drinking contaminated food and water.
On Tuesday, UNICEF said there were 72 suspected cases of cholera, with 36 of them reported in Juba, including some deaths.
Some of the cases were reported in Bor and Terekeka.
The International Organization for Migration said one suspected case was identified at its primary health care clinic at Tong Ping on Saturday.
