The Chief Whip of the SPLM in the national assembly says the party will investigate the whereabouts of 3 million South Sudanese Pound which an MP reported missing.

A Lakes state MP, Zacharia Matur recently raised a motion questioning where the money had disappeared to.

Matur told the media that 3 million SSP was allocated to pay for officials for diplomatic missions around the world.

He says those trips didn’t take place and wanted to know what happened to the allocated money.

The Chief Whip of the SPLM, Tulio Odongo, announced in a media conference that the details of the corruption allegations will not be made public until investigation is completed.

“As a party, we don’t promote impunity, we always have to make sure, if that is corruption or an allegation toward corruption we investigate it, as a party we had to call the issue is under investigation and you will be informed of the details of that investigation.” Odongo.

The money was originally planned to be used during the height of the crisis earlier this year.
