SPLM members told to brace for interim gov’t

The President has asked senior government officials to ready themselves to give up their positions to members of the SPLM in Opposition as part of the implementation of the peace agreement.

Salva Kiir who is also the chairman of the ruling SPLM told the party members that he is ready to name nominees of the SPLM in Opposition into the interim government as soon as possible to end the war.

He said what his government would reject is the use of force. He spoke on Friday at the swearing in of the new SPLM Deputy Secretary General, Jema Nunu Kumba.
