Vice President Hussein Abdelbagi says South Sudan owes its independence to the United States of America and the country will continue to deepen the relations between the two countries.
VP Abdelbagi made the remark during an event in Juba to mark the 247th Independence Anniversary of American Independence.
Mr. Abdelbagai said South Sudan like America paid a price to gain independence from Sudan, Africa, and the World.
However, he said South Sudanese owes their freedom from the neighboring country, Sudan to America for its support during the decades of struggles that culminated in the signing of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) in 2005 in Nairobi, Kenya.
Indeed… we cherish and keep forever, as the champion of democracy, good governance, human freedom, and liberty for all human kinds regardless of their geographical and ideological background because human values can cross the globe without discrimination of all kind,” he said.
Mr Aabdelbagi said South Sudan will never allow the relationship between the two countries to continue in the wrong direction adding that President Salva Kiir strives to deepen the relationship between the two countries and their people
