A poll released today shows what Juba residents think of both the appointment of the new Vice President as well as the ban on foreigners operating boda bodas.

The ‘rapid response’ poll, conducted by Oyee research shows a favorable reaction to the appointment of James Wani Igga as Vice President with over 90% of respondents saying they either agree, or strongly agree, with the President’s appointment.

In answer to a question asking if respondents approved of banning foreigners from driving commercial boda bodas, over 85% agreed with the move.

And despite almost seventy percent of those polled saying that they had ‘hope’ for the coming twelve months, there was not a lot of satisfaction with the current state of the economy.

Over 50% of respondents said that they were not very satisfied or not at all satisfied with the current economic situation.

The poll was done from 24 to 30 August and 620 people were polled.
