All government departments to lose their TV sets

All television sets in government institutions will be removed to create a better working environment in public offices, the Minister of Cabinet Affairs has said.

Martin Elia Lomoro said that the removal of televisions will assist government employee’s work more effectively.

“There is no country that has put up TV sets in offices. You will find someone has turned a TV on a high volume, some guests even coming to relax just watching Nigerian movies, some playing games in computers and claiming that he or she is an official working to resolve problem facing the nation. This can’t continue,” Mr Lomoro told Eye Radio.

Removed TV sets will be donated to war veterans, the disabled, orphans and widows “where they can be put in better use,” the Minister said.
