President Salva Kiir has assured the citizens and foreign nationals of stability in South Sudan while addressing congregants in Juba on Monday.

During his remark, Kiir acknowledged the presence of the US Ambassador to South Sudan Michael J. Adler and other diplomats who attended a Christ Mass prayer at the Kator Cathedral.

While wishing the diplomats the best of their stay in South Sudan, Kiir said although the country has not been unstable in some ways, he believes South Sudanese are stable.

Meanwhile, he criticized those who go on the media to send out what he calls wrong signals about South Sudan.

The Head of State assures there will be no repeat of the past events while expressing his government’s readiness to protect everyone including foreigners in the country.

President Kiir wishes that good things come to South Sudan.

“We wish that good things will come to South Sudan. Now our friends who have come to share with us this mass, now in front of me is the Ambassador of the United States of America, the rest are all the ambassadors,” President Kiir said.

“We wish you all the best in South Sudan and although South Sudan has not been stable in a way for us in South Sudan, we believe that we are stable,” he said.

“Some people just go and sneak into the media and give the wrong signal about South Sudan. I want to assure you that, this thing will not come again, will not repeat itself.

“We are ready to protect everybody in South Sudan, being a South Sudanese or being a foreigner, we will protect them”.
