A standard airport terminal is under construction at Kuajok in Warrap State, in a bid to transform the landing strip that once had a makeshift structure of bamboo, wood, and iron sheets for a terminal.

The modern terminal roofed with a giant W symbol for Warrap – is being constructed by government contractor Amoco Construction Company.

It is reportedly designed to have different sections including the Arrival, Departure, Very Important Persons and Ordinary sections.

The runway will also be expanded to make it usable to various sizes of airplanes.

Engineers told state-owned media SSBC that the airport terminal construction will finish in two months.

It will be the state’s second standard airport after Akon International Airport currently under construction in Gogrial West County and which is anticipated to be complete in two years’ time.

The standard airport is being built by Wunkoc Engineering and Modern Contractors – a South Sudanese-owned company.
