Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete is expected to arrive in Juba tomorrow for talks with President Salva Kiir over the SPLM interparty dialogue.

President Kikwete as the chairperson of the Tanzania’s ruling party, Chama Cha Mapinduzi, has been mediating talks over the reunification of the SPLM in Arusha.

“He is coming just to consult with the leadership, with the President, about his initiative in Arusha,” Ambassador Mawien Makol, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told Eye Radio.

“You know interparty dialogue is going on in Arusha and I think there are some points he wants to share with the President here in Juba before he goes back for the final sitting.

The interparty dialogue in Arusha brings together party representatives in Juba, those in the SPLM-In Opposition and the Former Detainees to discuss party reorganization, leadership and reconciliation within SPLM.

The visit is expected to last a day.
