President Salva Kiir revoked the appointment of former chief Akol Koor as the governor of Warrap State in a Republican decree issued Wednesday evening, just one week after Koor’s initial appointment.
Lt Gen Akol Koor was appointed last Wednesday after he was relieved as the Director General of the Internal Security Bureau and replaced with General Akec Tong Aleu.
The changes came while he was out of the country.
On Monday, the Warrap coordination office invited its Juba-based residents to turn up for the reception of the ex-spy chief at Juba International Airport where he arrived yesterday in the afternoon.
As soon as he disembarked from a plane was immediately escorted into a vehicle amid tight security.
The revocation of General Koor as Warrap State on Wednesday came hours after his return from undisclosed country.
In a similar decree, Kiir appointed Hon Francis Marial Abur as the new governor of Warrap State.
