President Salva Kiir has relieved the Chief of Defence Forces of the South Sudan People’s Defense Force, Gen. Paul Nang, and the Chief Administrator of the Greater Pibor Administrative Area, Peter Maze.

Gen. Dau Aturjong has been appointed as the new Chief of Defence Forces, replacing Gen. Nang, who had held the post since December 2024.

In a separate decree, the President reappointed Gola Boyoi Gola as Chief Administrator of the Greater Pibor Administrative Area. He replaces Peter Maze.

Mr. Gola previously held the same position from April 2024, following the dismissal of Lokoli Ame Bullen.

However, he was relieved of the role in a presidential decree on 17 January 2025, after serving for just nine months.
