Ten-man Jamus FC Juba showed their class with a hard-fought 2-1 victory against Yei Lion Hunters at Juba National Stadium on Wednesday, continuing their push for the summit of South Sudan Premier League.

This crucial win secured the Buffalos 17 points as they trail in the third place behind El Meriekh Bentiu with 18 points and league leaders Kator with 19 points in match-week 7 of the competition.

Yei Lion Hunters entered the match determined not just to defend but to challenge Jamus, particularly exploiting the left wing to create dangerous chances. The midfield trio of Lion Hunter played a key role in both attacking plays and defensive organization, attempting to limit Jamus’ advances.

Jamus struggled against Lion Hunter’s tight defense, which frequently relied on an offside trap. However, in the 26th minute, Mohamed Adel broke through the defensive line, forcing a foul inside the penalty box.

The referee awarded a penalty, which Adel confidently converted, giving Jamus a 1-0 lead at halftime.

In the second half, Jamus attempted to slow the opponent’s pressure, but Lion Hunter increased its attacking intensity.

Meanwhile, Jamus goalkeeper Victor Ndukauba recklessly collided with Lion Hunter payer inside the box at 57th minute, prompting the referee pointed to the spot and handed out a red card.

Isaac Friday stepped up and equalized for Lion Hunters, bringing the game level at 1-1.

Jamus responded with tactical substitutions, and in the 65th minute, Mohamed Adel struck again with a quick counterattack, securing the winning goal and all three points for Jamus.
